Terry Cloth Burp Cloths - DIY Tutorial

These terry cloth burp cloths were my favorite when my daughter was little. They are super absorbent and really cute! They soak up messes really well and wash great. You can match the fabric to your diaper bag, nursery colors or pick out cute blue or pink designs. Or, make these for a gift to take to a baby shower. Your momma friend will love them! I made my example from Robert Kaufman's Urban Zoologie Birds fabric. Follow along to find out how to make these burp cloths or visit my Etsy shop to buy them already made! Read more »

Cute New Pleated Wristlet

Look at this cute pleated wristlet I made this weekend! I'm so excited about it! I used Amy Butler Lotus Morning Glory fabric for the outside and the lining is Amy Butler Polka Dots in matching blue and gray. I made this wristlet using a Keyka Lou pattern. I really love her patterns. The have great directions that are simple and easy to follow. Not all of them are for beginners though so it helps if you have sewn a few things before attempting them. I didn't time how long it took me to make it but it wasn't more than a couple hours. Definitely do-able during a couple naptimes! Read more »

Organizing Sewing Patterns

How do you guys organize all your patterns? It seems like I've ended up with a lot of pdf patterns that I've bought online and printed off. I also have pattern pieces floating all around. I needed something more organized and an easy way to look up the pattern I was wanting to sew. I also needed a way to contain my patterns neatly (and kind of hidden) so my 2 year old daughter would quit pulling out a page here and there and spreading them through out the house! Read more »

Small Baby Security Blanket - DIY Tutorial

Here's a quick and easy baby security blanket that you can sew for your little one during their nap time. I first made a pink one of these small security blankets for my daughter when she was just a couple months old. I wanted something that she could cuddle up with but, not a huge blanket that I'd have to worry about her suffacating under. It's turned out to be the perfect size for her because now that she's walking (and carries her blanket with her everywhere) she doesn't trip on it. It's also a great size to throw in the diaper bag for trips. This blanket is only 16" x 16" so doesn't require much fabric. You might even have enough in your scrap pile to make it! Read more »

Etched Heart Jar Tutorial

Valentine's Day is less than a month away! I wanted to create something to store our Valentine's Day candy hearts in that was both functional and decorative. This cute little jar doesn't take too much time to whip up. And, once you learn how to do glass etching you can use it on so many things. I've etched vases and wine glasses so far and have seen ideas for etched casserole dishes so you always get your pan back after a pot luck. Read more »

Creamy Chicken Rice Soup

I tried this new soup recipe last night for dinner and I loved it! It was also a big hit with my husband and 21 month old so it's going to go into my recipe binder to make many more times. Winter finally hit Montana this week with some snow yesterday and lots of wind. This was the perfect meal to make on a cold winter night. I plan on making it again, next time we want a warm, comforting meal. And, best of all, it is really quick and easy to make. I think it took me maybe 30 minutes to trow it together. Read more »
